Where shapes become characters, and characters become sound.

GA. is a quiet picture book series for ages 3–6 inspired by the structure of Hangul, the Korean writing system.

In the first book, a giraffe shaped like ㄱ and a crane shaped like ㅏ begin alone in a wide, open landscape. They are different. Very different. But when they choose to stay together, they create something new: 가.

Each book in the series pairs a consonant and a vowel. Each pair becomes a sound. Each sound becomes a story about connection, friendship, curiosity, and belonging.

Created with colored pencil and finished digitally, the artwork combines minimalist storytelling, generous space, and a visual language rooted in Korean letterforms.

GA. is currently in development as a picture book dummy and is seeking literary representation.

About GA

GA. grew from my ongoing creative research exploring Hangul as a visual system. As a graphic designer, artist, and educator, I became fascinated by the idea that Hangul's consonants and vowels are not only letters, but also shapes with distinct personalities and relationships.

This picture book series translates that discovery into visual stories for young readers.
